Have you ever watched something fall apart right in front of you, and there was nothing you could do to stop it?
That’s been my world these past two weeks. The rain hasn’t stopped.
The smell of mold is everywhere. Water finds new paths each day, slipping through cracks I didn’t even know existed. We’re losing things one by one, and it’s happening faster than we can react.
What’s happening in Hawaii right now is heavy. Homes are under water. Roads are broken. People are grabbing what they can carry and leaving the rest behind.
You always think you’ll be the one showing up to help — until you realize you’re one of the ones trying to hold on.
It’s me, my mom Lora, Bailey, and Kalea tucked inside our home, catching leaks with trash bags and buckets. We haven’t been able to move for days.
Every time it storms, I feel that mix of fear and stillness that comes when you’ve done everything you can think of.
At first, I couldn’t ask for help. It felt wrong, like I should be able to figure it out. I kept telling myself, “Just hold on a little longer.”
But then I hit a point where pretending I had it together was heavier than actually saying I needed help. So I went live and told the truth.
That was the moment everything shifted. You showed up. You sent messages, support, love. You reminded me that this life isn’t supposed to be a solo game. It’s a shared one.
What we’ve built here isn’t just a community — it’s a circulation of energy. We give, we receive, and we keep each other moving forward.
We’re still in it. The rain still hasn’t stopped. The van needs repairs — serious ones — and we can’t move until it’s safe. So I’m asking again, openly and fully, because you’ve already shown me what happens when we ask together.
